"Were there dinosaurs before Adam and Eve?"
Yes. God created dinosaurs before creating Adam and Eve. Remember, Adam, Eve and the humans that came after them were the last creatures that God before He rested. Scientists also tell us that humans came into existence after all other living things did, including dinosaurs. The person who wrote the book of Genesis where we read the story of Creation lived many, many years after Adam and Eve. And he lived many years before you and me. When he wrote the story of God's Creation, he did not know about the dinosaurs because there were no paleontologists way back then. In fact, there were no scientists at all. That's why he didn't mention dinasaurs when telling the story of Creation. But our Catholic faith teaches us that the Bible isn't a science book like the ones we read in school. The Bible also is not a history book like the ones we have now either. But, the Bible does answer other kinds of questions for us; like "who made us?", "why do some people do bad things?" "why do we need Jesus to save us?" Can you think of other questions the Bible answers?
